THE SPECIAL NEED in the Top 5 audience voting @ IDFA
Carlo Zoratti’s debut THE SPECIAL NEED has won the German competition @ DOK Leipzig. This is what the jury had to say :
The film talks about a friendship between men, in which women have a playful role of seriousness and give self confident input. Sentimentality, speculation and voyeurism are nowhere to be seen in this film. There is no Happy End, because sex without love is impossible. It’s not a woman saying this, but Enea, a man. There hasn’t been a documentary which talks about humanity with all its comedy and tragedy so sensitively in a long time.
THE SPECIAL NEED will be presented in the Top Docs selection at CPH:DOX. We found our TV partner ZDF – Das kleine Fernsehspiel when we presented the film @ CPH:DOX Forum in 2011, so we are very happy to be back at with the final film! Thanks for having us!
